Η Τατζικιστάν παραδίδει πρωτογενές έδαφος στον συγγενή του Προέδρου, ισχυριζόμενοι οι αντίπαλοί του

The Ismoili Somoni Holding Company is the new owner of 8,500 hectares of land, including pastures, forests, and plots near the capital, Dushanbe for the next 20 years, according to an official document signed by Rahmon. The company is headed by Rahmatullo Asadulloevich Sadulloev, who is thought to be one of Rahmon’s brothers-in-law.
This move is concerning given the current shortage of land for Tajik citizens to grow food, graze livestock, and build homes. Additionally, the company has been involved in various businesses, including construction, since its establishment in 2006.
The powerful Sadulloev brothers are thought to control profitable businesses in Tajikistan, however, it is uncertain if Rahmatullo Asadulloevich Sadulloev is one of them. Nonetheless, the arrangement raises questions regarding the exploitation of power to benefit the president’s family and friends.
The array of financial institutions and companies controlled by Rahmon’s inner circle, coupled with the high-ranking positions held by his children in the government, have stirred allegations of corruption and exploitation. These allegations further exacerbate the deep poverty in which most Tajiks live.
This circumstance casts a shadow over the government’s legitimacy, and exacerbates the deep poverty in which most Tajiks live. Regardless, the Tajik authorities have not commented on RFE/RL’s findings, which further exacerbates the lack of transparency and accountability in Tajikistan’s political landscape.
