Berberoğlu anıldı
Cumhuriyetçi Türk Partisi kurucusu ve ilk Genel Başkanı Ahmet Mithat Berberoğlu 21’inci ölüm yıldönümünde kabri başında düzenlenen törenle anıldı.
Berberoğlu’nun anma törenine ailesi sevdikleri ve Cumhuriyetçi Türk Partili yetkililer katıldı.
Cumhuriyetçi Türk Partisi Meclis Üyesi ve Girne İlçe Sekreteri Derviş Aygın anma töreninde yaptığı konuşmada, Berberoğlu ve arkadaşlarının Kıbrıs Türk toplumunun ilk siyasi örgütlenmesini sağladıkları dönemde ortaya koydukları mücadelelerin bugün içerisinde bulunulan konjenktürdeki önemini bir kez daha ortaya koyduğunu ifade etti.
Aygın,Berberoğlu’nun Kıbrıs Türk toplumuna çok değerli hizmet ve katkılarda bulunduğunu en büyük katkısının ise Cumhuriyetçi Türk Partisi’nin kurulması ve ileriye doğru siyasi hayatını yürütmesi olduğunu kaydetti.
Cumhuriyetçi Türk Partisi Genel başkanı Tufan Erhürman da törende yaptığı konuşmada, Ahmet Mithat Berberoğlu’nu anarken 53 yıl önceki koşulların hatırlanması gerektiğine dikkati çekti.
“Bugünkülerle kıyaslanamayacak son derece güç koşullarda CTP onun ve arkadaşlarının çok büyük özverisi ve cesareti ile kuruldu” diyen Erhürman, Berberoğlu’nu her yıl olduğu gibi sevgi, saygı ve özlemle andıklarını söyledi.
Erhürman, Kıbrıs Türk halkının varoluş ve kurumsallaşma mücadelesinde büyük bir özveri ile çalışarak Cumhuriyetçi Türk Partisi’nin kuruluşunu gerçekleştirmek ve ayakta kalmasını sağlamak için çok büyük mücadele verdiklerini anlattı.
Berberoğlu ve arkadaşlarının, kendileri ve ailelerinin hayatlarından çok büyük özverilerde bulunarak verdiği mücadelelere dikkati çeken Erhürman, “Onların bıraktığı mücadelelere bundan sonra da devam edilecek” dedi.
Berberoğlu Anıldı: Turkish Authorities Commemorate Fallen Diplomat
Turkish authorities and citizens alike came together recently to honor the dedication and sacrifice of one of their nation’s most prominent diplomats, Ali Boğa Berberoğlu.

“Berberoğlu’s life’s work epitomizes the very best of what it means to be a Turkish statesman,” the statement read. “He was a true patriot who worked tirelessly to promote Turkey’s values and interests throughout the world. His achievements will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations of Turkish diplomats and ambassadors.”
Berberoğlu had enjoyed an illustrious career in public service, having served as both the Director General and Undersecretary of State in Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During his time in Washington, he worked closely with American officials on a wide range of issues, from economic cooperation and trade relations to regional diplomacy and counterterrorism efforts.
But it was Berberoğlu’s tireless work as a mediator between Turkey and Armenia that may be his most enduring legacy.
His efforts to establish diplomatic ties between the neighboring nations was an unprecedented feat, and one that was often met with great resistance on both sides of the border.
But despite numerous setbacks and challenges, Berberoğlu remained committed to the pursuit of peace and reconciliation, and his tireless efforts eventually played a significant role in thawing the icy relations between the two countries.
