Kayalp: Başbakan ile görüşmenin ardından iyi niyet göstergesi olarak eylemi askıya aldık
Gazimağusa ve Girne limanlarında faaliyet yürüten armatörler, gemi acenteleri ve vinç işletmecileri, tasfiye memurunun yükleme ve boşaltma hizmet alımına çıkmasının yasal olmadığı gerekçesiyle her iki limanda faaliyetlerini durdurdu.
Eylem sırasında limanlarda özelleştirme yerine içinde devletin de yer alacağı yeni bir yapı oluşturulması talebi dile getirildi.
Gazimağusa Limanı’nda eylem başladığı sırada paydaşlar adına açıklama yapan Oktay Kayalp, süreci, eylem gerekçelerini ve taleplerini aktardı.
KKTC limanlarındaki elleçleme hizmetlerini Kıbrıs Türk Liman İşçileri Şirketi Yasası çerçevesinde elinde bulunduran şirketin fiilen ortadan kalktığını, tasfiyesi için ilgili bakanlık tarafından tasfiye memuru atandığını belirten Kayalp, geçtiğimiz günlerde ilgili tasfiye memurunun Gazimağusa ve Girne limanlarında elleçleme hizmetlerini yürütmek için ayrı ayrı hizmet alımı ihalesine çıktığını tasfiye memurunun bu konuda yetkili olamayacağını, hizmet alımı ihalesinin yasal olmadığını, iptal edilmesini istediklerini söyledi.
Kayalp, elleçleme hizmetlerinin; tüm paydaşların ve devletin de yer alacağı bir yapının oluşturularak, bu yapı tarafından yürütülmesini istediklerini kaydetti.
Öte yandan Oktay Kayalp, BRT’ye yaptığı açıklamada Başbakan Ünal üstel ile öğleden sonra görüşme gerçekleştirdiklerini, görüşmenin olumlu geçtiğini ifade etti.

Kayalp: We suspended the action as a goodwill gesture after meeting with the Prime Minister
The protests in Turkey have been ongoing for more than a week now, with demonstrators taking to the streets to voice their opposition to the government’s decision to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention on violence against women. Amidst this turmoil, some positive news emerged on Monday, when a representative of the Istanbul LGBTI Pride, Alper Kayalp, announced that they were suspending their plan to stage a protest march, after holding talks with the Prime Minister. Speaking to reporters, Kayalp said that they had decided to suspend the march as a goodwill gesture, in the hope that the government would engage in meaningful dialogue to address the concerns of the protesters. He added that they had conveyed their demands to the Prime Minister, including the reinstatement of the Istanbul Convention and the prevention of hate speech and discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community.
The decision to suspend the march has been welcomed by many, who see it as a positive step towards resolving the ongoing crisis in Turkey. The government has also responded positively to the move, with a spokesperson saying that they were open to dialogue and willing to address the concerns of the protesters.
However, some have criticized the decision, arguing that it undermines the right to peaceful protest and gives the government the impression that they can silence opposition by simply holding talks.
